Mei

Writer and tea lover based in Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo.

Certified as a Nihoncha (Japanese Tea) Adviser by the Nihoncha Instructor Association of Japan in April 2019, and according to the association’s statistics, the first in Malaysia.

This blog is mostly about tea and tea-related experiences, with the occasional diversion into travel and other topics of interest.

茶柱 (chabashira, lit. tea pillar) is the Japanese word for a tea stem floating upright in a teacup. Given its rarity, encountering a chabashira in one’s teacup is said to be a good omen.
